The idea for Brands Take Action came during the upheaval of 2020. Through their work together at Upcause, Caroline Goggin and Kamari Guthrie received an onslaught of requests from companies seeking guidance on how to quickly and successfully respond to rapidly evolving crises like COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter.
Regardless of industry or size, these companies all faced the same challenges: How do we know we’re saying the right thing? How do we back up our words with concrete actions?
Recognizing the need for scalable and quickly deployable solutions for CEOs and their teams, Caroline and Kamari created Brands Take Action to help executives act quickly, authentically, and with impact.
Kamari has helped elevate the brand of many of this generation’s rising and established brands in entertainment, media, fashion, beauty, tech, and civic engagement.
After being named one of the Top 30 Under 30 PR Stars for her early work building brand awareness for startups, she went on to be the Director of Communications for Vote.org — leading their most successful voting awareness campaign in 2018. Her clients have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Buzzfeed, Forbes, Fast Company and more.
Caroline operates with the knowledge that we are in the midst of a generational shift in expectations of business.
As the founder of Upcause, she has become one of the most sought-after consultants for how to lead with purpose as a driver of brand awareness and brand loyalty from both employees and consumers. Caroline has counseled brands across diverse industries, from retail to tech to entertainment. Her work has resulted in high-profile coverage in The New York Times, Fast Company, TeenVogue, CBS News and more.
